Doug Key has been in contact with a Troy Keene, a representative with of Lion’s Gate Productions, who was given Doug’s name by several different folks (including the KY Railway Museum). They are making a made for TV movie about the Hatfield and McCoy feud starring Randy Travis and Tim Able. They are looking for extras on a generic Civil War battle scene that will be filmed at the sinkhole field at the Key Farm at 8am on Saturday, December 10th, 2011. They will also be filming some ambush and town scenes but that really depends on the schedule and their locations. Here are the specifics:
• Infantry, artillery and cavalry needed.
• Bring both blue and grey uniform, as we will probably have to do double duty (lots of hats).
• Bring all personal weapons and gear that you have.
• They want slender fellows. Big guys (portly), like myself, they really can’t use unless we wish to play dead and bloated on the battlefield.
There will be more detailed information to come when it becomes available (pay, food, yada-yada). The more the merrier. Call Doug at 859-805-1331 to confirm you’re coming and how many you’ll be bringing. Please note: If you have never worked on a movie set before, it’s a lot of hurry up and wait, but an experience you’ll never forget. Although there will be stringent safety guidelines, this is not a re-enactment. You will repeat shots/scenes over and over and over. As a veteran of several film projects I will warn you ahead of time, it is a long and tedious process. Please bring some patience with you.
I will update this information as it becomes available.
